Hi all from Sydney Australia,
Use the squeezebox app to manage my Wyred 4 sound music server.
Updated my iPad to the beta iOS 11 but the squeezebox no longer works
and the App Store says this app needs to be updated to work with the new
operating system and so won’t redownload it onto iPad.
Still able to use app on iPhone that is not upgraded yet but wondering
if anyone knows what is in the pipeline re updates as I can’t see any
such news on the website.
Anyone know or able to advise on this.
Many thanks,
Amr Marzouk
highly unlikely to ever be updated, given that Logitech discontinued
squeezebox products several years ago. You should use the iPeng app.
Many, many times better as control app.

Hi all,
I am a huge iPeng fan. I love the powerful features and have used the
Classic version of this app for many years.
However, those of us with large families will need to pay for the app to
cover each Apple account for users of the Squeezebox ecosystem. My kids
don't want the power (and therefore complexity) of iPeng; they need a
simple way to 'push play'. Compounding this we routinely have friends
over that have access to our network and use the free Logitech app who
will most likely chose not to pay for iPeng. I also loved that the same
app and therefore familiar interface could be used on both our Apple and
Android devices. That scored big "'wife acceptance factor'
(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wife_acceptance_factor)" points.

It's a shame to lose the ubiquity of the Logitech app with no direct
drop-in replacement.

With your family at least there is the “family sharing” option for up to
5 (I think) family members. For example, my wife and I have separate
Apple accounts, but with family sharing we both have all the apps I’ve
purchased.

iPeng allows family sharing. If you enable that for your accounts you
only need to purchase it once. The exception are In-App-Purchases (the
playback feature) but that is something not covered by the Logitech App
anyway.

I agree a bit on the complexity thing.
Until now it made little sense to have iPeng provide a similar UI to the
Logitech App because why would anyone pay for it to get the same
experience.

iPeng 9 will get a redesign in the coming months and besides better fit
to iPhone X making it more accessible/easier to use for those with just
simple use cases is indeed a priority.
