I have been able to fix my 'Spotify' issues yesterday. I would like to
share my findings, spent 6 hours on it in total.

I am running LMS on my synology NAS, and the player on a raspberry 2,
and Spotify is working for me. So it also possible to get it working.

Confusing though what plugins I need, or which are newer
- The official Spotify plugin v1.0 by Triode
- 3rd party Spotify plugin v2.3.9
- Spotify protocl handler v1.1.1 (this thread)
- Triode's Spotify plugin for Spotify Family

Also using the LMS interface, I could not find an artist that I could
find using the Spotify desktop application, try nerd or n.e.r.d.

Yep agree. I used to have Synology 212j and i had it working before.
Since I have the DS215+ I can't get it to work.
I gave up and now run LMS on the Pi - works great - I am a happy man :-)

spotify client I find more results then through the LMS client. Am I the
only one?

I can find a lot of N.E.R.D. albums by searching for nerd in the
official Logitech Spotify app (not Triode's 3rd party app).

well I uninstalled all the plugins and only installed the official
Spotify plugin, now I can find results searching for "nerd", yeah!

I now also have the "Spotify protocol handler v1.1.1" plugin installed,
and I still can find results, yeah.

So somehow reinstalling the plugins + stopping and staring the LMS
service on my Synology solved the issue

I am a happy listener
